Dr. Diane Goodman

Psychologist

The decision to start therapy is potentially a life-changing one.  I’m a clinical psychologist practicing in the Fox Valley Area and my objective is to help you learn about you.

Are you frustrated and struggling in a relationship?  The fastest path to a different experience in that relationship is to focus your energy on you. Therapy can show you new ways to look at yourself so you will stop looking at THEM.

Practice

Who’s going to change fastest first–you or them?

Therapy RoomYou are one-half of all your relationships. People most complain about what someone else is doing, has done, or might do. They plead, “I wish he’d just change” or “I don’t know why she won’t stop;” YOU are the only part of every relationship in your life over which you have any real control. The intensity of your desire to make or help someone else change is equal to the intensity of effort you need to apply toward changing yourself.

The fastest path to a different experience is to focus your energy on you. Therapy can show you new ways to look at yourself so you will stop looking at THEM.

515 James St Geneva IL 60134Therapy is an investment in yourself.  Many areas of your life can improve when you decide to begin psychotherapy, including feeling more self-acceptance, noticing a new sense of happiness, an awareness of a broader range of choices, and improved communication in relationships with peers, family members, and even with coworkers.

In a therapy session, it’s all about you.  My job is to listen to you and help you figure what new route you might take or how you can better handle a troubling situation.  Perhaps, you need to add a new ingredient to have a more delicious cake?  Don’t stay stuck or give up.  Call me to come in and talk about your life.

My hours Mondays through Thursdays are from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.  I have openings on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  My billing company will investigate your insurance benefits before you come in for the first appointment.  Credit cards are accepted.
